In connection with assignments, I use iconography as an analytical method. Iconography is an art historical discipline that deals with the motifs of images, their tradition, and symbolism. For me, it is a kind of inspiration and a way to discover what type of architecture inspires me. Through photography, I investigate and represent the story behind the motive. My photographs aim to enhance the spatial concepts, elaborate the care of detailing and emphasize the perception of materiality and atmosphere. The Japanese architect Kengo Kuma once said that we are weak in front of the power of nature and should stop thinking that architecture is much stronger than nature. In another connection, that is what I am trying to illustrate through my photographs
“Natural materials allow our eyes to penetrate their surfaces and convince themselves of the truthfulness of the fabric. They express their age and history and tell us their origin and human use. It exists in a time continuum. Due to common use, the patina gives the building material an enriching experience of time.”
